Halloween Teddy Bears

What will you be doing this halloween? For many of us it's a time of dressing up in our most spookiest costumes, finding the scariest of masks and going through our kitchen cupboard to find the biggest bowl to hold our haul of sweets, gum and maybe a few friendly fruits. It's a time of year when the nights are drawing in early and the cold air is now upon us. Generally our children are happy to venture out into the streets to knock on a few friendly doors, most of whom display some sort of lantern or other halloween ornament to show they are waiting for a knock on their door. Maybe this year you could turn your hand at making an exciting new costume for your favourite teddy bear. Of course as always there are build-a-bear shops that supply their own ready made outfits but wouldn't it be a lovely gift to your teddy this year if you were to sew together your own special costume. The ideas are endless with the obvious witch or warlock, or maybe a pumpkin or skeleton. Maybe you or a relative can turn your hand to knitting or crochet. Sometimes we have an old pair of trousers in the bottom of the wardrobe that are now only good enough for recycling and turning into a new outfit for your special teddy bear. If this is not for you or you just don't have the time this halloween but would like to treat yourself or someone else to a seasonal teddy bear there are many on sale. The Christmas spending season is upon us once again. And with Build-A-Bear Workshop now showing their lovely new items for this season we have lots of wonderful christmas teddy bears to give as that special christmas gift.

Christmas Teddy Bears

Christmas teddy bears are in our shops now. Yes, Christmas shopping has begun already and some of us will have been putting away the odd present during the year too! Once again new shops are springing up just for your Christmas décor. But what I love the most is the large array of new teddy bears that will be on sale as a special Christmas gift. From Tatty Teddys which are priced cheap enough for anyone to buy to the more expensive Steiff Bears which we would all love to own at least one. The teddy bear craze has once again begun.




People have been buying teddy bears as gifts for Christmas for over a century. We all love the cute and cuddly bears sometimes as a reminiscence of our childhood and others as a romantic gesture for our loved ones.

Teddy Bear Baskets

Teddy bears come in all colours and sizes and can be matched up with accessories to mark any special occassion. A new born, birthday, valentine, a missed love one, an apoplgy......there are countless reasons to send a Teddy Bear Basket.



Here are some useful tips for making your own Teddy Bear Basket.

1. When choosing your basket think about the depth and width. Make sure it is high enough that nothing will fall out. Will you require a handle.
2. You will need a filling like shredded paper. This could be in a neutral colour or red for example for Valentine. Make sure to stuff it well. It will help to hold everything in place and stop smaller items from sinking out of sight.
3. Place your teddy bear and accessories into the basket. Play around with them until you get your desired affect.
4. You will need a piece of cellophane large enough to wrap round the entire basket tying at the top. This can be done with a staple gun.
5. You will need at least two ribbons. One to be wrapped round the tied point of cellophane. Hanging down the front of the basket. Once again, staple the point where they cross. With the other ribbon make a folding bow. Staple onto the first ribbon in front of the stapled area.
6. Here you have your finished Teddy Bear Basket which you can personalise with a small gift card.
